Many of the energy-saving home improvements you purchase in 2010, including new windows and doors, may result in a credit on your 2010 tax return next year. If you purchased and installed your new windows in 2009, you may be due a credit on your 2009 return. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, more often referred to as the "stimulus package," allows up to a $1500 tax credit based on 30% of the cost of purchases that qualify. But not every energy-saving window and door is tax credit worthy. Get the facts now.
